Marnie L Pehrson has been writing books since 1994, but she didn t branch into fiction until 2004 Largely influenced by her friend and colleague, Marcia Lynn McClure, Marnie s first foray into fiction was a story about one of her favorite ancestors She pitched the idea for The Patriot Wore Petticoats to her distributor in June of 2003 and had the novel virtually finished by September A labor of love, the story of Marnie s 4th Great Grandmother, Dicey Langston, came in flashes of inspiration that flowed into a story that is now required reading at Langston Charter Middle School in Greenville, SC.Once Marnie dipped her toe into fiction, she never wanted to leave Other Southern novels followed including Waltzing with the Light, Rebecca s Reveries, Beyond the Waterfall, Angel and the Enemy, In Love We Trust, Second Sight and two titles in the Granite LoveNotes series, Hannah s Heart and Savannah Nights.Marnie, who was born and raised in the Chattanooga Tennessee area, is an avid enthusiast of family history She integrates elements of the places, people and events of her Southern family and heritage into her historical fiction novels Marnie s life is steeped in Southern history from the little town of Daisy that she grew up in the setting for Waltzing with the Light to the 24 acres bordering the famous Chickamauga Battlefield upon which her family resides The Chickamauga Battlefield inspired Rebecca s Reveries, In Love We Trust and Marnie s BarnesAndNoble best seller Angel and the Enemy December 2006.In 2004 Marnie and Marcia Lynn McClure formed the CleanRomanceClub because they believe that women deserve a little romance without the shock The club features 9 ebook titles from each author for a total of 18 ebooks possible.Marnie s latest, An Uncertain Justice, is a true story about the last legal hanging in Georgia You can read excerpts of her books at SouthernLit and MarniePehrson.

    1. Another love notes collection book Cute short read which after reading it found that it was taken from a true account of the authors relatives Hannah was younger than the bachelor farmer, Ephraim by 5 years and although his outward actions didn t attest to it at first he admitted to Hannah later that he had loved her from a distance and only stayed away because after approaching her father for permission 4 times he was refused as an acceptable suitor for her The one chosen by her father was the [...]

    2. Book 5 Love Notes Collection Series This is the first book in the series by this author She is one of the 3 authors that wrote the collection Series really isn t the appropriate word since these stories do not tie together other than the first 3 that Marcia Lynn McClure wrote I liked this author much better than Sherry Ann Miller whose stories tend to have a darker side but I did not like her as much as I like Marcia Lynn McClure One thing that endeared this story to me was learning that it is b [...]

    3. I picked this up because it was part of the Love Notes Collection and recommended by Marcia Lynn McClure I ve read 3 of the books in this Romance You Can Trust collection and have loved them Hannah s Heart is a really was a cute story and it s a clean read Unfortunately I just didn t get swept away Too much happened in too short of a time and it felt a little flat to me Not enough time was taken to develop the romance between the characters. If found it interesting to note it is based on the auth [...]

    4. Romantic passion and history make a great readBased on the story of the author s ancestors, this is a warm, sweet, and hard to put down story of Hannah and her choice between obeying her father or marrying the man she loved and who cherished her, but who did not meet her father s approval What will it take to soften her father s hard heart and mend her own If you need a good escape book, look no farther.

    5. This was cute and predictable It reminded me of Where the Heart Leads by Anita Stansfield, but closer, stylistically, to Marcia Lynn McClure.

    6. I read this book because she s another author besides McClure who is in the Clean Romance Club This one was based on a story from her geneology Just not that excitingwe ll see how her others are.

    7. I really liked this book The main characters had to go through a lot to be together Very good, clean, easy read
